This is a fantastic movie, maybe a bit out of date but that doesn't take a single thing away from the film itself!
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is about a man named Randel(Jack Nicholson), who commits sveral crimes. He gets sent to a mental institute to be tested wether hes mental or not. When he figures if hes not mental he has to go to prison he decides to stay at the mental institute by being a bit wacko. As he stays he soon learns that the pations are completley cut off from the world, and he shows them life itself.
This is a brilliant movie, it shows the perspective of the mental pations.
It was a excellent performance by Jack Nicholson. This movie also makes you feel emotion,one minute you could be feeling happy the next, you could be feeling hate or sadness.But some scenes may put you off, depense whos watching!

Tommorrow When the War Began
This movie is based on the novel by John Marsden and I think the movie is knocking heels with the book.
This movie/book is about 7 high school students going camping in the national park named Hell. When they come back, from what they call paradise, their lives go upside down. While they where gone an army has raided their town and taken their families as hostages. The second this happens they must transform themselves from normal kids to rebels.
This movie is action packed and has the coolest stuff happen in it, from blowing up bridges to killer car chases. This movie also has it's funny side. The writer has definitely done a top job wih the script and leaves you hanging on you chair prepared to fall off.

Vampires Sucks
This movie is by the same guys who did Epic movie, Disaster movie and Superhero movie but this one is certainly one of the better movies..... but i must say that my expectations weren't too high.
Well basically its the first two twilight films (Twilight and New Moon).Well for those who haven't and won't watch it because they think the Twilight saga is rubbish, here's the basics. Rebecca (Bella from twilight) is moving to Forks with her dad and before she knows it she's in love but not as you would think. Its a vampire she is in love with. So thats the Twilight part. A few weeks later she goes to Edward's house to celebrate her birthday when things go wrong and Edward must leave her. Later Edward gets the idea that Rebecca is dead and goes to kill him self. Then Rebecca has to stop him before its too late. That was the New Moon part.
This movie sounds serious but it isn't. Weird and wacky funny stuff happens along the way, but some bits I thought they could've done without like ripping moustaches off and bashing up handicap people.

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief
This movie is unexpectedly good, i thought it would've been rubbish but......no it was good.
This movie is about a school boy Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman). He is attacked by an almost impossible creature threatening to kill him unless he gave back the so called lightening bolt. His life starts to go upside down. He soon finds out that he is what they call a demi god (which is people with half god and half human backgrounds) and before he knows it he is in a special camp next to a centaur (Pierce Brosnan). He soon goes on a journey with his guardian Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) and a strong sword fighter named Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario).
This movie was quite good considering i have not read the book which i have heard is also very good. The only weakness is that the movie is farily predictable.

Fantastic Mr Fox
This movie is really cool and good but i'm not sure who it was targeted at as most of the script is a bit unusual for a Roald Dahl film.

Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko is in mostly in the top ten of like every movie list. But most people I've talked to then watch it and find it disappointing, as they don't have a clue of what just happened. I think that is what makes this movie shine.
Donnie Darko is about a normal kid called Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal), he is normal until he starts to have visions of a tall rabbit who tells him what to do. He goes to a psychiatrist. That doesn't help much.
Until two minutes before the conclusion of this movie you'll think you're on top of the plot, well let me tell you: use those two minutes wisely because the conclusion is a roller coaster. The end is sort of dramatic, sort of sad and disappointing.
I find the rabbit a bit freaky. Especially when it's late at night and you're lying in bed staring at the ceiling and seeing weird shadows on it.

Casablanca
Casablanca is one of those classic movies that you will have to see if you're into movies.
The movie is about two lovers, Rick and Ilsa (Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman). They meet in france, but when it is attacked by the germans they are forced to leave. After Ilsa (Ingred Bergman) does not show up for their train, Rick (Humphrey Bogart) goes on by himself. Once they find out no one can get past Casablanca, Morroco without a visa they all get stuck in Casablanca. Rick opens up a succeesful bar in Casablanca and gets settled down. Iisa shows up and the boat starts to rock once more, but Ilsa is in another relationship.
This movie is alright. It doesn't really take my hand and lead me, but it is like I said, a must watch. Also the amount of famous lines in this movie is shocking, there's about five or four. Humphrey Bogart was very good in this movie his style reminded me of Marlon Brando in the godfather, (not that I've seen much of it).

Babel
Babel is a very full on movie so don't expect it to be one of those light weight drama films because it is exactly the opposite.
Babel has 4 main stories that thread together in the end. The movie involves a deaf japenese girl, a shot wife, a long term baby sitter who takes the kids across the border to Mexico for a wedding and last but not least the story of the the people who shot the wife by accident.
This movie is very clever and well done. If you know the story of Babel you will understand what the movie is about, if not, I'm sorry but I'm not going to tell you that passage from the bible. Basically this movie is about communication between different people and how hard it is to get your meaning across.
P.S If you see it pay attention to the gun and where it has been.

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2 is a very good sequel to the first.
This time Iron Man faces the villain Whiplash (Mickey Rourke). The blue power source in Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Junior) chest is keeping him alive, while poisoning him at the same time. He must discover how to stop it from killing him. While all that happens one of Stark's friends (Don Cheadle) takes one of his four Iron Man suits and gives it to the US air force where they pimp it up with some sweet weapons.
There is however the occasional diappointment:some action scenes were just solved too easily especially the ending scene, it was a bit disappointing.
Now to the actors and actresses. I'd like to congratulate Mickey Rourke on his performance he had a very very good russian accent. Don Cheadle also did a terrific perfomance at delivering his part of the story. Then there is Robert Downey Junior I just didn't enjoy his performance as much as in Iron man 1, he just wasn't as funny. And Gwyneth Paltrow is terrible! Her acting was stiff and she just stumbled through her lines.

This movie is not happy at all. In fact, its extremely depressing.
It is about a family of 3 who can't afford the rent of their apartment or food. When the mother and wife (Thandie Newton) leaves the two boys (Will Smith and Jaden Smith (Will Smith's real life son)) things get even worse. Will Smith's character takes a trainee stockbroking role. It is a good opportunity to make some money but he doesn't earn any money in the traineeship and he doesn't have much chance of getting a real role.
This movie is based on a true story, like Touching the Void and the Changeling.
It is one of those movies when you feel like kicking the TV over! But this movie has a message and that message is HOPE. There is always the oppurtunity to change your life!

Psycho
Psycho is a really good Hitchcock movie, the movie is up there with Rear Window and The Birds.
The movie is about a girl named Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) who had to take money to the bank. Instead she drives away not knowing where. In the middle of the night she stays at a motel in the middle of nowhere. Soon she goes missing and no one knows what happened to her.
This movie is a bit more obvious than Hitchcock's other films. He doesn't normally just show the guy with the knife but that does not put this movie down. Actually this might be one of the best knife and blood films of all time, with the shower scene and the very well done story line......... surely a golden Hitchcock

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
This movie is one of Clint Eastwood's best. It is very cleverly done. It starts with a handful of separate stories. They don't just come together at the end of the movie they come together all through the movie. The main stars are Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef and who could forget the very well known Clint Eastwood.

Cliffhanger
Cliffhanger is one of those boring and pathetic action movies.
The movie is about Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone) who is a part of a mountain patrol team. One day he fails to save a lady as she falls to a long death. This makes Gabe think twice about his job. While all that is happening some guys in planes are trading some things in the middle of flight (very weird I know) but the money happens to fall and land in the moutains and their plane crashes, so they get the patrol team up to help. Gabe gets convinced to go up, but soon finds that he is finding there money for them or he will lose his life.
Cliffhanger is crap. My advice, get Rocky or Rambo instead.

This movie is probably one of the best teenage chick flicks ever made, belive it or not.
The movie is about a nerd that nobody knows, Esther Blueburger (Danielle Catanzariti) who meets another individual but not quiet the nerdish type, Sunni (Keisha Castle-Hughes). They become really good friends and Esther has no friends at her school and when she meets Sunni who is a very comfortable, popular girl, they become friends and Esther starts going to Sunni's school without her parents knowing. Sunni suddenly becomes very popular and in doing so, focuses on acting 'cool' and forgets about being nice and caring.
This movie is really good and it shows how people who think differently and do things differently can still be friends.

The movie is about a wild kid named Max (Max Records). His parents are divorced and his mum and sister have no time for him. One night Max runs away to an island where he finds the Wild Things and soon becomes one himself. How to Train Your Dragon
When I first heard about this movie, I thought no, I'm not interested in it. But having seen the film I walked out of the cinema and thought over everything that just happened and I decided it was a pretty decent movie.
How To Train Your Dragon is about a town full of Vikings. It isn't infested with mosquitoes or slugs, instead its infested with dragons. Everyone there has to work on trying to kill or at least help kill a Dragon! The town warrior is very skillful and good at killing dragons, his son however is not. His name is Hiccup (Jay Burachel). His dream is to be the first to kill a dragon no one has ever seen before. One day he catches one and sets it free knowing that it was as scared as he was, but the dragon keeps coming back to him so he learns alot about the creatures and no longer wants to kill them.
This movie is really good the only problem is that it takes a bit too long to get in the feeling of fllying with dragons. If you do see this, you must try and see it in 3D the flying scenes look real!

This movie is fun, full of laughter and makes you hungry.
The film is about a scientist named Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader)who never achieved any sucssesful inventions. Then he makes an invention that will never be forgotten called the FUDEMUFER (i'm not kidding, it's something like that). It converts water into food, which drops right on a town in Alaska. The town soon gets out of control with all the food coming down from the sky, a lot bigger than they'd imagined. This movie is very creative and unusual as the town never could manage to get full of food.

He lands on a planet full of what he sees as aliens. Only trouble is on this planet Captain baker is the alien. He causes major panic, the captain's space shuttle gets put in a compound and he has to find some alien friends to help him get back to earth.

Wanted is one of those action packed movies that us blokes all love.
Wanted is about an ordinary guy named Wesley Gibson (James Mcavoy) who gets unexpectecly recruited to a team of assassins.The leader of the assassins, Sloan (Morgan Freeman) tells him that he has the talent to make his heart beat 400 times per minute. He soon finds himself with his partner Fox (Angeliana Jolie) who has the talent of curving the bullet which Wesley must master. His assasination target seems to trouble him and get him to start to wonder if his been told the truth by his fellow assasins.
This action movie is really unrealistic. They flip a car over 20 police cars by running into a speed bump, then jump a 20 metre wide road and shoot guys while still in the air. I guess the curving bullet is acceptable but more then 1 unrealistic thing is over the line for me. If you can look past the unrealistic stuff this is an extrodinary action movie, so pick it up from the dvd shop.

Gran Torino is Clint Eastwood's latest movie and he's blown me away, as usual.
Gran Torino is about a war veteran called Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood). He is getting old and his wife has just died. Walt's neighbourhood has becom increasingly Vietnamese, and a Vietnamese family has moved in right net door. He does not feel comfotable with these changes. Though he becomes friends with them the Vietnamese gangsters get one of his neighbours to try and steal his car, the Gran Torino. This movie is about racism and how violence is not very cool.
This movie is fantastically dramatic and the racism and violence make you feel frustrated.

Romeo + Juilet

This movie is about 2 families who have minaiture wars. romeo is from the Montagues and Juliet from the Capulets. They fall in deep love, willing to do anything to see eachother.
Let me start off by saying this movie is not a love story that will bore your son out of his mind. This movie is also action packed. What Baz Lhurman changed the setting from the 1600's to the modern time., so yes they do use guns.
The soundtrack for this movie was another thing that pushed this movie to a higher ground, even though there are some random artists in it.

AVATAR
Ok if you have not seen avatar I suggest you watch it as soon as possible because its by James Cameron and its a really good movie.
AVATAR is about a war on an alien planet they call Pandora, there fighting for steel in the ground which is worth a lot back on earth, the main charachters job is to go into a machine that lets him control one of the aliens. He must learn there language abd there ways of doing things to get there trust, but will he stay with the marines or join the aliens and kill his own kind.
This movie is very creative for the visual effects, the story line and the story behind the whole movie. The actors was a nice mix as James Cameron got an actress that he'd used before like Sigourny Weaver and some new actors like Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana.This movie started a new look at things like the amazing special effects. Over all this movie is a must borrow and watch once more or buy the movie.

The Hangover
I admit that I should not have seen this movie for some very good reasons that i will not be sharing here.
This is the 2nd funniest movie i've ever seen.
The Hangover is about 4 guys who go to Vegas for a bachelor party. They wake up in the morning not remembering a thing about last night and their friend who's supposed to get married today has gone missing. They spend the day searching all through Vegas to find their friend, in the process they find out what happened the previous night.
What made this movie funny was when they uncover stuff that will effect there family or themselves and we see how they react to it. When you watch this movie just a note: listen to whatever the guy with the beard says, he practically just says funny stuff.

Aliens In the Attic
If you've seen the Aliens In the Attic trailer and decided not to watch it you made the wrong choice! This movie is actually a really funny kids movie and I really enjoyed it. It's about two families that go up to a holiday house but soon the kids find out that Aliens have moved in on them so they try and stop them from setting up the Alien invasion.
Theres not much I can say about the movie besides that it's excellent and very well done.

I Am Legend
I Am Legend is a Will Smith movie and one of his very best. The movie is set at the end of the world and Will Smith and some other characters are left on earth. But, there's one trick: at night time the zombies come out of there dark holes to kill whatever humans are left.
This movie is fun, action packed and sad! So don't think it's some movie that has action all through it and is just boring because it isn't.Will Smith has acted at his very best once more and topped it off with the way he makes you keep watching with this oustanding movie.

Alice In Wonderland
Tim Burton's next movie has come to cinemas, Alice in Wonderland. Alice in Wonderland let me think, ok if you've seen the original or read the book it's the same story. Really this wasn't nearly as outstanding as I imagined it to be, in fact it was not big on story line it was the visual effects that made it half better than what it would've been. This movie is not one of Tim Burton's best but it's worth borrowing from your dvd shop.
I give it 5 white rabbits out of 10.

Blair Witch Project
Oh my gosh I just finished watching the Blair Witch Project, scary stuff. I understand if you think about it the movie is 10 years old but so am I and it's good to watch an old movie here and there.
The movie is about two boys and one girl who go into the woods to film a documentry on the town myth the Blair Witch, but they get a bit more than they expected when they start to get hunted down at night.
The magic of this movie is how it was filmed on a video camera, and the very first to do so. This movie is not your average family movie even though it's rated M it's one of the scariest movies i've ever seen. It might not be Saw or Friday the 13th scary but it's enough for me to be out of my wits.
These University students have proved that not every scary movie has to have blood and violence all through the movie, suspense is the key to achieve that.
I give this movie 8 screams out of 10.

The Birds
The birds is is one of my favourite Hitchcock films.The movie is about a girl called Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hendren) who goes to Bodega Bay to deliver some birds to a man named Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor). Some time later the birds start to attack everyone in Bodega Bay, locals and visitors.
I personally like this movie because it is suspenseful (in my case that's always a good one). It has good character selection and most importantly Hitchcock managed to stick to the realism of what birds can actually do.
